IES José María Infantes is the first school in Spain to serve as both a museum and public school for the arts. Douglas Anderson School of the Arts was ranked #295 out of over 23,000 public high schools in the nation. It is #25 in the state of Florida. I taught creative writing at D.A. from 2015—2020. The Douglas Anderson Writers' Festival, which brings writers such as former U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, George Saunders, Joyce Carol Oates, and many others to D.A.'s campus to teach craft and generate new work both with high school students and the community at large. I've been working with two other teachers since 2015 to plan and direct the event. |
